A life without severe menstrual cramps?

Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) are periodic abdominal, pelvic and sometimes low back pain experienced by women as a result of their menstrual period. These cramps can range from mild to quite severe. More than 1/2 of all menstruating women have cramps*. They are severe in 1 in at least 7 of these women*. Surveys of adolescent girls show that over 90% of girls report having menstrual cramps*.  

Menstrual cramps are commonly treated with Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as tylenol, Ibuprofen, midol, etc… In severe cases birth control, antibiotics and even anti-depressants may be prescribed as a way of regulating menstrual cycles.
