High Blood Pressure for life?

According to the CDC, “About 1 of 3 U.S. adults—or about 70 million people—have high blood pressure. This common condition increases the risk for heart disease and stroke. 2 of the leading causes of death for Americans.”

As stated on the Huffington post, “The best data demonstrates that hypertension is almost unavoidable as we age,” says Clyde Yancy, MD, chief of cardiology and associate director of the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute in Chicago, Illinois. “Once we reach age 55, we have a 90 percent chance of becoming hypertensive.”

I do not know about you, but I would not want to be part of that statistic. However, at the rate that most people in America are going based on mainstream medicine, that is the reality of the situation. Even though those statistics may seem gloomy, there is still something you can do to change your course in a better direction. Yes, losing weight, eating healthy, eliminating table salt (synthetic sodium) replacing with Celtic sea salt or similar to (contains natural minerals needed by the body for cell membrane potential), limiting alcohol intake and exercising are great ways to decrease or prevent high blood pressure, but are those the only options? Is there anything else that I can be doing to decrease my chances of being a part of that horrific statistic? The answer is yes.

Although High blood pressure may be common, it does not mean it is normal. If that were the case, then we would’t be seeing patients in our office being able to get off of their medications, having their bodies start to regulate it’s own blood pressure after being diagnosed with this condition for years.

It basically comes down to knowing what controls and regulates pressure, constriction and dilation in blood vessels of the body, and the answer is simple. Our nervous system (Brain, brain stem, spinal cord and nerves), specifically our autonomic nervous system. If this system is doing it’s job, then our blood pressure should be able to regulate itself, on it’s own.

The spine is what protects our nervous system and it makes sense that it would be on our backs because we want to keep this system as well protected as possible. However, our spine can be damaged and in turn affect our nervous system.

It is a known fact, that a Vertebral Subluxation (misalignment) of the spine, specifically in the upper neck area causes irritation and or pressure to be put on the upper spinal cord nerve tracts. Which alter important nerve signals to organs, vessels, cells, muscles, etc.. and eventually cause malfunction to occur of that part and or system of the body.

Now, we do not claim to cure or treat high blood pressure by any means. However, many patients who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure have experienced great benefit from Chiropractic care, even to the point of having their medical doctor take them off of their medication after being on them for years.

In conclusion, there is a definite link between proper nerve function and overall  body/organ function.

Here are what a few patients had to say about their experience:

“I came into Essence of Life Spinal Care just to see how and if it would work to help my current and unknown conditions. The changes in regards to my body function took a little longer compared with my wife. However, I originally came in for my back stiffness in which this care has helped with, but now I have experienced much more. It has been exactly one year that I have been under care and now I come in about once a month. My body started to regulate my blood pressure on it’s own and my medical doctor had to take me off of my blood pressure medication because it ended up dropping too low. My blood pressure has stabilized since.” – Benjamin Satterfield

2015-01-20-08-31-33“I was suffering with shoulder pain, neck pain, high blood pressure and allergies for over 10 years. I would wake up with stiffness in my neck, I was unable to bowl for long periods of time without pain, I felt sluggish and my problems were only getting worse. After being under care I noticed that the stiffening lessened, I had more energy, I was able to bowl better even after a long day of work, I no longer had headaches and what really surprised me was that I was able to get off of my allergy and blood pressure medications. Now my body feels refreshed daily.” – Stanley Clay
